Run OCR on scanned or image-only PDF pages to create a searchable PDF and extract text. Processing runs on the Elixuvo API with Tesseract — files are not stored permanently.
Choose a PDF you own (often a scan or image-only file). Elixuvo runs Tesseract OCR on the API for this request only and does not store the file permanently. Searchable PDF pages are rasterized at the chosen DPI with an invisible text layer.
OCR can take longer for multi-page or high-DPI scans. Large documents may time out — prefer smaller ranges when possible.

Elixuvo uses Tesseract OCR through PyMuPDF on the API host. Tesseract and its language data must be installed on the server; they are not bundled with the Python packages alone.
No. Each processed page is rendered at the selected DPI, then OCR adds an invisible searchable text layer. Appearance stays close to the scan, but vector graphics become a bitmap.
Only languages installed in the server’s Tesseract tessdata folder appear in the language list. English (eng) is the usual minimum.
No. Password-protected files are rejected. Unlock the PDF first if you are allowed to, then run OCR.
No. Accuracy depends on scan quality, contrast, language, orientation, and layout. Pages with no recognizable text are reported clearly; failed pages stay as images without invented text.
