Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

The tool analyzes each line sequentially and removes recurring occurrences, keeping only the first appearance of each unique item. You can choose case-sensitive deduplication (where 'Apple' and 'apple' are treated as distinct) or case-insensitive deduplication (where casing differences are ignored).
Standard alphabetical sorting arranges strings character-by-character, meaning 'file10.txt' would appear before 'file2.txt'. Natural sorting accounts for numerical values within strings, sorting them intuitively: 'file1.txt', 'file2.txt', then 'file10.txt'.
Yes! You can sort lines from shortest to longest (Length Ascending) or longest to shortest (Length Descending). You can also shuffle lines into a randomized order using the Fisher-Yates algorithm, or invert the entire list with Reverse order.
Yes. Enabling 'Trim Whitespace' removes stray spaces and tabs from the beginning and end of each line. 'Remove Empty Lines' automatically filters out blank rows or lines containing only whitespace.
Yes. The formatting options allow you to automatically prefix each line with sequential numbers (with smart zero-padding for 10+ lines), as well as custom prefixes (e.g. '- ' or '> ') and suffixes (e.g. ',').
Never. All text parsing, deduplication, filtering, and sorting algorithms run 100% locally on your computer inside your web browser sandbox. Zero data is ever sent to an external server or stored anywhere.
