How to use this tool

  1. Paste your baseline text in the 'Original Text' pane and your updated text in the 'Modified Text' pane, or click 'Load Sample Diff'.

  2. Toggle between Side-by-Side (Split) View and Unified (Inline) View to review changes in your preferred layout.

  3. Inspect the interactive diff summary to see total additions (+), deletions (-), and unchanged lines.

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

The tool uses a high-performance Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) diff algorithm implemented entirely in client-side TypeScript. It tokenizes texts line by line and computes minimal edit paths to highlight exact additions and deletions without sending any data over the network.
Split (Side-by-Side) view renders original and modified texts in two adjacent columns with aligned rows, ideal for comparing visual paragraphs and code files. Unified (Inline) view renders all changes in a single combined timeline using '+' and '-' prefixes, identical to standard Git diff output.
Yes! The diff engine works with any text-based content, including programming code (TypeScript, Python, C++, HTML/CSS), formatted JSON or YAML documents, configuration files, and written essays.
Yes. Clicking 'Export Diff (.patch)' generates a standard unified diff file compatible with Git and patch utilities.
