No. Photos often shrink at a lower JPEG or WebP quality. An image that is already optimized, or a PNG saved with less compression effort, can stay the same size or grow. The result shows the original size, the output size, and the measured change.
For JPEG and WebP, lower quality makes a smaller file and keeps less detail. PNG stays lossless: lower quality uses more compression effort, and higher quality writes a larger file faster. Quality must be a whole number from 1 to 100.
PNG and WebP keep transparency and animation. JPEG cannot store either, so those conversions are rejected instead of flattening the image or dropping frames. Orientation from the photo is applied to the pixels so the download displays upright.
