When locked, changing width updates height (and the other way around) so the proportions match the original. Unlock to set width and height independently, still without enlarging.
PNG and WebP keep transparency and animation when you stay in those formats. JPEG cannot store either, so those conversions are rejected instead of flattening the image or dropping frames. Photo orientation from EXIF is applied so the download displays upright.
