The selection you see may be smaller than the original image. Elixuvo converts the preview rectangle into source-image pixels using the display scale, then clamps and rounds before sending left, top, width, and height to the API. EXIF orientation is applied first so the preview and the crop use the same upright dimensions.
PNG and WebP keep transparency and animation when you stay in those formats. Every frame of an animated image is cropped with the same box. JPEG cannot store transparency or animation, so those conversions are rejected instead of flattening the image or dropping frames.
No. The image is held in memory for this request and discarded afterward. Nothing is written to durable storage.
