Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

The extractor extracts all font files that are embedded inside the PDF object tree (both complete font files and embedded character subsets). If a document uses non-embedded standard system fonts (such as Helvetica or Times New Roman referenced externally) or consists of scanned raster images, there are no embedded font streams to extract.
Depending on how the authoring software (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Word, LaTeX) generated the PDF, the tool extracts TrueType (.ttf), OpenType (.otf), and Compact Font Format (.cff) binaries.
The ZIP archive includes a comprehensive JSON manifest that lists each font's PostScript name, clean file identifier, font format, file size, SHA-256 fingerprint, and an array of all page numbers where the font is used.
Yes. If a document references the same embedded typeface across 50 different pages, the engine computes cryptographic stream hashes to ensure each unique font file is extracted only once into the ZIP archive.
No. All font stream extraction and ZIP packaging occur strictly in-memory (RAM). No files, font binaries, or temporary data are ever persisted to disk or databases.
