Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

No. All video compression runs entirely inside your web browser using WebAssembly and client-side FFmpeg. Your media files never touch any external server.
CRF (Constant Rate Factor) controls the balance between video quality and file size in H.264 video encoding. A lower value (e.g. 23) preserves finer details but yields a larger file, while a higher value (e.g. 32) achieves significant size reduction.
You can compress MP4, MOV, and WebM videos. The compressed video is exported as a standard web-compatible MP4 file with H.264 video and AAC audio.
Video compression requires intensive CPU computation. Because encoding happens client-side using WebAssembly, performance depends on your computer's processor speed and the length of your video clip.
