Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

All framing calculations, border expansion, corner rounding, inner keylines, and drop shadows run directly on your device using HTML5 Canvas drawing APIs. Your original image files are processed strictly in local memory and are never uploaded to any remote server.
A passe-partout (or mat board) creates an art gallery presentation by placing a wide border between the artwork and the outer frame. Our digital passe-partout adds an elegant double-layered frame featuring a crisp 1–2px inner accent keyline (in gold, onyx, silver, or custom color) surrounded by a generous luxury mat.
The polaroid frame replicates the iconic look of vintage instant film cameras. It features equal margins on the top, left, and right sides with an asymmetrical wide bottom margin (the classic instant photo 'chin') that can display optional caption text.
The floating card mode applies smooth rounded corners and a soft, realistic multi-layer drop shadow against a transparent or solid canvas. It is ideal for UI/UX presentation mockups, portfolio showcases, and social media announcements.
Never. The tool preserves 100% of your source image's native pixel resolution. The output canvas dimensions automatically expand to accommodate the added border margins, ensuring your photo remains razor sharp without downscaling.
Use PNG when your frame uses rounded outer corners or soft drop shadows that require a transparent background. Use JPEG (92% quality) when your frame has a solid mat or white border and you want a compact file size for web or email sharing.
