How to use this tool

  1. Upload any photo (JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG) by dragging and dropping it into the workspace, clicking to browse, or pasting from clipboard (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V).

  2. Select between a Linear Gradient (with 0° to 360° angle rotation) or a Radial Gradient (emanating from center or corners).

  3. Choose a curated mood preset like 'Sunset Horizon', 'Cyberpunk Neon', 'Deep Ocean Blue', 'Golden Hour', or 'Emerald Glow'.

  4. Customize the gradient color stops: click any stop to change its color, add new stops, or adjust individual color opacities.

  5. Pick a professional compositing blend mode such as Overlay (high contrast punch), Soft Light (gentle cinematic mood), Screen (lightening wash), or Multiply (rich dark shadows).

  6. Fine-tune the Overall Opacity slider (0% to 100%) to balance original photo tones with color overlay vibrancy.

  7. Inspect the live interactive canvas preview to evaluate color transitions and details.

  8. Export your final stylized artwork at full native resolution in lossless PNG or high-quality JPEG format.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

When a gradient is rendered using a canvas blend mode (such as Overlay or Soft Light), the color values interact mathematically with the underlying image pixels. Overlay preserves the highlights and shadows of the original photo while shifting the midtones toward the gradient colors, resulting in a rich, cinematic look rather than a flat, opaque color wash.
A Linear gradient transitions colors along a straight directional line at a specified angle (for example, a top-to-bottom sunset fade at 90°). A Radial gradient radiates outward in circular or elliptical rings from a central focal point, ideal for vignette glows, dramatic spotlighting, or centered portraits.
Yes! You can add multiple color stops along the gradient track, reposition them anywhere from 0% to 100%, and assign custom colors and opacities to each stop for intricate, multi-hued color grading.
For natural, gentle mood enhancement, 'Soft Light' is recommended because it subtly tints midtones without blowing out highlights. For bold, high-fashion or album-art aesthetics, 'Overlay' or 'Hard Light' provides punchier contrast and vivid saturation.
No. The gradient overlay is drawn directly on an offscreen HTML5 canvas matching your image's 100% native pixel dimensions with smooth floating-point color interpolation, preserving maximum sharpness and resolution.
No. 100% of the gradient generation, matrix angle rotations, and compositing blend calculations execute locally in your web browser. Your photos never leave your device.
