How to use this tool

  1. Upload your image (JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG) or paste directly from your clipboard using Ctrl+V / Cmd+V.

  2. Click the Eyedropper tool and sample the background color directly on the canvas, or choose a quick preset (White, Chroma Green, Studio Blue, or Black).

  3. Adjust the Tolerance slider (1% to 50%) until all background shades are fully masked.

  4. Refine edge smoothness using the Feathering slider to eliminate jagged aliased borders around the subject.

  5. Enable Edge Defringing to suppress colored spill and halo rings along cutout edges.

  6. Switch between preview backdrops (Transparency Checkerboard, Dark, White, Green, or B&W Silhouette Mask) to verify clean borders.

  7. Download your cutout as a native full-resolution transparent PNG with zero server upload.

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

The tool analyzes pixel color coordinates directly in browser memory using HTML5 Canvas typed arrays (Uint8ClampedArray). By calculating perceptual color distance (Redmean delta) between each pixel and your chosen target key color, it transparently masks matching background pixels without sending any image data over the network.
Yes! When saved as a PNG, all keyed-out background pixels have an alpha channel value of 0, creating a genuine transparent background suitable for graphic design, web assets, e-commerce listings, and presentations.
Absolutely. You can remove pure white backgrounds, studio lighting gray, green screen chroma keys, blue screen backdrops, or any arbitrary color sampled directly with the integrated Eyedropper tool.
Global keying removes all pixels in the entire image that match the target color. Contiguous keying performs a connected flood fill starting from the image borders or your clicked sample point, ensuring internal details of your subject (such as a white shirt or light reflections) are not erased.
When removing green screen or colored backdrops, edge pixels often retain faint colored light spill (color fringing). Edge Defringing selectively neutralizes and desaturates residual key color along boundary pixels for a natural composite.
Because all computation runs 100% locally in your browser tab, your photos never touch Elixuvo servers or third-party cloud APIs. You can process high-resolution photos with complete privacy and zero data transfer limits.
