How to use this tool

  1. Upload any photo (JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG) or paste directly from your clipboard with Ctrl+V.

  2. Select your active output channel (Red, Green, or Blue) or toggle Monochrome Mode for custom black & white filtration.

  3. Adjust the Red, Green, and Blue source sliders (-200% to +200%) and Constant offset to remix color contributions.

  4. Explore curated presets like Infrared Aerochrome, Orange & Teal, Technicolor, or High-Contrast B&W Landscape for instant color grades.

  5. Use the interactive Before / After split slider to compare the color mix against your unedited photo.

  6. Download your full-resolution photo as lossless PNG or high-quality JPEG, or copy directly to your clipboard.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about file privacy, processing modes, formats, and device support.

A channel mixer modifies color images through matrix multiplication: each output color channel (Red, Green, Blue) is calculated as a weighted linear combination of the source image's input channels plus a constant offset. This allows cross-channel blending, color shifts, and specialized color grading impossible with standard hue/saturation sliders.
Standard grayscale conversion uses fixed Rec. 709 luminance weights (approximately 21% Red, 72% Green, 7% Blue). Channel Mixer lets you freely adjust source contributions—for example, boosting the Red channel to 75% darkens blue skies dramatically and makes clouds pop (simulating an optical dark red #25 glass camera filter), while boosting Green lightens foliage and softens skin tones.
Infrared Aerochrome routes foliage reflectance into the red/magenta channel while dampening green and blue, simulating historic Kodak Aerochrome infrared aerial reconnaissance and artistic film. Green trees and grass turn vibrant crimson, while skies retain deep contrast.
When the sum of the source RGB channel percentages equals 100%, the overall brightness and exposure of that output channel is balanced. A sum greater than 100% brightens the channel (adding saturation or exposure), while a sum under 100% darkens it. The 'Normalize to 100%' button instantly scales the weights to maintain balanced exposure.
